What are the six clauses?

The six clauses are the first six rights in the first amendment. The first is freedom from religion, the second is freedom of religion, the third is freedom of speech, the fourth is freedom of the press, the fifth is freedom of assembly, and the sixth is freedom to petition.

The black lives matter movement was a social and political movement that went against issues of police brutality and violence against black people. Their goal is to build power to get in the middle of violence on black communities.

When related to the first amendment and the black lives matter movement the first clause that comes to mind for me is freedom of speech. It has been known that people are allowed to express the way they feel through their voices. People chose to use their voice and peacefully protest to express how they feel about the situations that have occurred involving BLM. Expressing how you feel by peacefully protesting cannot cause any harm, just awareness for your beliefs.

Another clause of the first amendment that relates to the black lives matter movement is freedom of assembly. Groups of people gathered to express how they feel during these protests. They did this because there is power in number and it shows how many people care about this situation.

Some of these peaceful protests have turned into violent riots which is exactly what shouldn't be happening. Violence is not protected by the first amendment. This is why some people believed that these protests should not have happened in the first place.
